What. A. Feast.

The aftermath!

I love crab legs. I could eat them every day! But of course my check book would not like that. Kalli LOVES them. She gobbles them up like candy. So on Sunday, after a bit of house cleaning, shopping and running around in this beautiful weather, we decided to run to Fresh Market and pick up some seafood. Oh my! We walked out with two filets of Grouper, a handful of cocktail shrimp and three giant crab claws!

We cooked the crab outside because they are stinky, grilled up our fish and baked some potatoes. Then we dug in! It was like a feeding frenzy. So. Darn. Good.

Loving this warm weather and being able to fire up the grill. Bring on summer! :D

This is what it's all about...

My little bugs. How I love them. My greatest joy is watching the bond strengthen between my them as they grow. They've become inseparable. I always longed for a sibling growing up - I still do sometimes. What a gift it is to have each other. Every morning when Parker wakes up he immediately asks for his sister. If he wakes before her (this happens rarely) he points at her room and raises his little hands and asks "Kah-Kee?"

I hope they are always this close. My heart is full. I am thankful. This is what life is all about. Family. Health, love and family. There's really nothing more.

365...13 days in.

I'm pretty excited to be able to look back on 365 images a year from now. A little look into the everyday lives of two toddlers and a work at home mom. I promise to get more creative, but for now, it's just a bunch of shots of my kids, and nothing "spectacular" photographically, but memories all the same. This is what I have thus far.

playing dress up

So this evening Kalli decided to put on one of my (very ratty) PJ shirts and she thought it was hilarous! And, not to leave Parker out, we put one of Joe's shirts on him. We laughed and laughed. Just love moments like these :)

365. Day one.

I am doing it. I'm committing to it! I've decided to take part in a 365 project. I think it's probably going to be hard some days, but I really think I'll love having it to look back on. So, here goes. Day one. And no, I won't be posting them on my blog everyday, but I will here and there.

Picnic.

Kalli thought this was a fantastic idea (even though she didn't want her picture taken). It's crazy that it was 66 degrees yesterday in the middle of December, but I'm not complaining. After lunch we went to the park - the kids had a blast.

White Bean Chicken Chili

This was DELISH! We all loved it. Parker loved it the most!

1 lb ground chicken (or turkey)
2 cans green chili
28 oz chicken broth
2-3 cloves of garlic, crushed
1-2 cans white beans (I used Northern Beans)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 onion
Shredded Monterey Jack
Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Fresh Cilantro for garnish (optional)

Cook the onion and ground chicken until cooked thoroughly. Add the garlic and sautee about 1-2 mins. Add the spices and cook another 2-3 mins. Combine the broth, beans, sauteed chicken/onion and simmer for 10-15 mins. Add 1 tbsp of shredded Monterey Jack to each bowl and squeeze generous amounts of fresh lime juice on top.
